Mallorca: Safari Zoo
As promised, here is the post from Mallorcan Safari Zoo- attraction I couldn't miss! After my son has visited safari in Africa this year (which I imagine is even more exciting), I was tempted to visit one too- and it's honestly the best thing I can possibly recommend.
The whole journey is about 3 km long and you have the choice of either going by your own car or by safari train. We chose the car for more comfort but since we had a cabriolet, the lady at the entrance strongly recommended putting the top up because of the naughty monkeys.
You have to drive slow as ostriches and emus as well as other animals may cross the road any time or come up to the car.
Now the monkeys that we were warned about in fact did not display any interest towards us but it's probably for the better because it's no fun to have your rented car scratched (that's what they said they might do).
Zebras, on the opposite, turned out to be the most curious/friendliest/funniest! About 10 of them would come up to each car from both sides and queue up sticking their heads into the open windows, probably expecting treats but since everybody is kindly asked to not feed any animals, they'd move to the next car.
Video snippets and more photos from safari can be found on my Instagram under "Spain 18" highlights.
I did not get any close up pictures of the elephants Dina and Daisy nor rhinos and have only admired them from a distance, but that's only fair that all of the animals are free to move around the territory and you are not guaranteed to see all of them during your visit.
This giraffe has certainly made my day though with his adorable "smile"!
Since you can't really get out of the car on a safari, we took some outfit photos on the beach where we headed right after.
And the bag is a Birthday present from March that I was able to find in store in Lisbon. It has been sold out in velvet for a while now but here is a leather alternative.
