Thinking Out Loud

Tonight I was putting my son to sleep and I told him that one day he will grow up and no longer live with me and his Dad, but will have a family of his own, his wife and kids. He asked me why, I explained that this is what happens when people grow up, just as me and his Dad don't live with our parents anymore and live together, with our baby. He replied sadly "but Mum, I want to always live with you" and gave me a tight hug, and added that he wanted to live with me and a little sister. He'd been asking for a sister for a while now. Perhaps he realises having a brother is not that fun already having to share the toys with my younger brother? Either way, I feel truly blessed at such moments. He's a great child and now is his most interesting age and I don't want to miss out on it. He asks me a thousand questions a day and stops whatever he is doing just to come and give me a hug or say that he loves me.

I don't usually write anything like that on the blog, but just felt like saying it tonight. Someone asked me earlier why do I post so rarely and said that I'm supposed to have a spare time for that because I'm a blogger. Well, I am a Mother above all and I'm old enough to get my priorities right. I wouldn't trade that special time with my baby for anything else. I am thankful to you lot who understand that I have a life and my responsibilities apart from dressing up and producing new posts. In fact, I am working on one now, but thank you for your patience and for sticking around!

  2. I actually LOVE the fact that you have a life outside of blogging and photos. It can be a tad annoying, when I get the chance to read blogs, and there is no other life perspective. Not to mention quality over quantity. And Inga you have quality. Thanks for always turning out photographs that inspire me in my photography and for having a "real life" blog. And anyone who's seen how adorable your son is here on the blog should understand that :)

  9. I think as a blogger, you have the right to decide when and how often and about what you want to post, so keep on doing what you are dong because I (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) love it!

  12. Hello. I never comment on posts but felt the need to here. Anyone that reads your blogs knows that you are a mother and student yet still have time to write your blog, I don't know how you find the time! I myself have a family and work full time so I am a bit in awe. You may not post a lot but when you do it's beautiful and worth waiting for

  18. Thank you everyone, I was seriously surprised by the things you guys have said, it just made me feel a lot closer to you- my readers! Really happy you understand me and share my thoughts!

Bec, I really appreciate your understanding and acceptance, thanks a lot! x

Ballerina's Bun: I know! You are too young to realise it right now, it wasn't until I had a baby I started reconsidering my priorities, it will all come to you don't worry! x

Shushanna, и тебе привет! Рада, что вы меня не только понимаете, но и поддерживаете! Ты права, не хочется упустить его детство..

Davina, thank you for the support! I've stopped comparing myself to other bloggers who work on their blogs full-time and you don't need to push yourself or feel bad looking at others, you never know if someone has a nanny, a family member to help etc. Our kids come first :-)

Unspeakable Thoughts: Thank you! I have always wanted more boys and then a little girl as well, but hey, gotta finish uni first! :D

  20. A blog is a hobby, not an obligation, so spend your time as you want! A lot of people cannot understand it.

Give a kiss to your little boy :)

  22. Dear Mommy! I know exactly what you mean. I have a girl in almost the same age as your son. She also asked me about little sister. She realy wants her because as she said: I want to take care of her. It's amazing how adult she is. Beeing a mother is the best part of my life. That why I understand you. You know whats mean all this hugs, kisses and lilltle arms which hugs you.
Take care and lots of whishes for your son.

  23. Your post gave me goosebumps because I feel the same way as you. I have a little baby girl and second one on the way. I blog too but not regularly or maybe because I don't have a lot of readers :p
You should only do things that makes you and your family happy. Blogging is not a job unless you're getting paid for it. And even then you should let your readers breath.
And about your sons wish you should go it ;) bebe nr. 2
